[PC] KartKraft

#1

Hi All,

After nearly twelve months of radio silence, today’s post is of a different kind and is the first since I secured funding in January of this year to form a new studio, Black Delta, under which KartSim will be released. As of today, there are now nine developers in the Black Delta team working on the game to bring it to Early Access, and I along with the team, can’t be any more excited to finally release what we’ve all been waiting for.

By far the biggest news for the game, is its new name, KartKraft; a name which we feel better represents the gameplay and level of race craft required to win in such a cut throat sport. As a result, we’ve now launched our official website*www.kartkraftgame.com in the coming weeks, we’ll be releasing brand new in game footage, as well as developer diaries to take you behind the scenes of KartKraft all the way to launch.

You can also expect to see a lot more activity on here with exclusive previews of the game; we’re adding even more laser-scanned circuits from around the world, and have partnered with leading racing brands from around the world to let players customize their avatar, kart and team with products from FREEM, Alpinestars, CRG, IAME, MIR, Sparco, Arai, Arrow, Monaco and many more.

In even more news, those of you who are attending Gamescom this year, will be able to race on a 6-DOF hexapod motion simulator with the Oculus Rift at Stand A30 in Hall 10.1. Airfreighted from Melbourne, Australia specifically for the Gamescom event, the simulator lets you feel every bump and vibration as the tyres grip, slide and bounce over the laser-scanned tarmac.

Finally, the lack of updates and communication has not gone unnoticed. Once again I thank you all for your patience and whilst things have only got busier for myself, you’ll begin to see posts from other members of the Black Delta team to keep you in the loop.

With all your help and support through the journey to get here, let’s get this out!

Dec 3,

Hi All,

After rushing back to Australia from our incredible reception at Gamescom 2015, we’ve been deep in the trenches preparing for KartKraft’s Early Access release. There’s been a huge demand for new content and screenshots from the game, as well as an influx of emails, tweets and comments of your suggestions and game ideas. We’ve listened, added them to our feature request list, and have already begun incorporating some of those ideas into the game.

It has also been very clear that we need to increase the frequency of posting new content and improve our communication with you. Balancing an increasingly demanding development schedule alongside running the studio, has highlighted the need for us to add someone dedicated to being your eyes and ears inside the studio. Having led the Gran Turismo community, as well as several other AAA titles, he’s here to make sure you’re kept completely up to date. No more radio silence, guaranteed!

And now a quick update on KartKraft; after the feedback from our weekly testing sessions at Black Delta HQ with local gamers and kart drivers, we’ve decided to extend the launch of the game to Q1 next year to add additional features, improvements and optimisations to the game, which we’ll detail in an upcoming blog post. In the next week we’ll be releasing KartKraft’s first teaser trailer since the switch to Unreal Engine 4. With exclusive in game footage, new tracks and features, it leaves the Greenlight trailer in the dust!

Finally, we’ve got 5 brand new unedited in-game screenshots taken in KartKraft, showing the official 2015 Praga Karts™ Dragon Evo with the 22hp IAME™/ Remo Racing™ KA100 motor lapping the laser scanned Geelong Karting Club circuit in Melbourne, Australia.

Thank you again for all your patience, and stay tuned for the teaser trailer! You can also stay in touch via Steam, Twitter and Facebook, or feel free to drop us a line at contact@blackdelta.com.au.

Hi All,

There's only one way to start this post, and that's to apologise for the way we handled the delay of ‪#‎KartKraft‬ Early Access. Our lack of communication was simply not good enough, and we need to make sure it doesn't occur again.

During the ongoing Closed Beta Test, we've been working with our dedicated community testers to improve every aspect of KartKraft. In just the past 48 hours, the most recent wave of the CBT group have completed 28,665 laps of Geelong onboard the IAME ‪#‎KA100‬ powered karts with testers from 37 different countries.

With an incredible response to the game during the entire CBT period, we've received highly detailed feedback and suggestions that we've been able to include in the weekly CBT releases. From the Force Feedback, Physics, Lighting, UX and UI, Wheel support, Triple screen support and overall level of performance, there's not one component of the game we haven't worked on and improved; with over 1600 fixes/features/improvements made during the past 10 weeks.

The CBT has also highlighted some key features and performance issues on lower end hardware that must be fixed before we release #KartKraft. Thus we have decided to extend the CBT period and release date by approximately 8 weeks to ensure KartKraft meets and exceeds your expectations on Day 1, even as an Early Access game. We will make a further announcement to confirm the exact release date in the coming weeks.

We will also be increasing the number of testers in the CBT and sending out additional waves beyond the initial allocation to make sure more of you are able to participate in the testing. (Those who were part of Thursday's Beta wave who are still having issues redeeming your Steam Key, please expect an email with an updated key on Tuesday next week. We are currently working with Valve to resolve the issue.)

Finally, to those who are still awaiting a response to their recent emails and messages, please expect a slight delay in receiving a reply. We are currently working through a backlog of 3000+ messages from the past two days.

Thank you once again for your understanding and I leave you with new unedited in-game screenshots from the CBT showing off the ‪#‎IAME‬ ‪#‎X30‬ powered ‪#‎CRG‬, ‪#‎SODI‬ and ‪#‎DEADLY‬ karts with more videos and screenshots to come.

In de tussentijd duikt er steeds weer nieuw ingame footage op van de Closed beta test versie. Volgend filmpje werd op 6 mei door iemand gelekt op youtube, geen idee hoe lang die nog online blijft :
